Olivier Saillard is one of the most respected fashion historians of his generation, renowned for his intellectual depth, curatorial precision, and poetic approach to fashion as cultural memory. He began his curatorial career as director of the Musée de la Mode in Marseille in 1995, later overseeing landmark fashion exhibitions at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris starting in 2000.
