About Julia Chaplin
Julia Chaplin is a New York–based journalist, author, designer, and cultural curator whose work explores the convergence of travel, style, and modern spirituality. A frequent contributor to The New York Times, Travel + Leisure, Condé Nast Traveler, Elle, and W Magazine, Chaplin is best known for coining the term “gypset”, a blend of gypsy and jet set, which describes a global tribe of free-spirited creatives who live and wander with effortless style and worldly sophistication.
Beyond publishing, Chaplin designs clothing, curates experiences, and consults on hospitality and interiors. She is the founder of Proyecto Dracula, an arts organization that supports creative experimentation in remote locations. Her work is rooted in an ever-evolving exploration of aesthetic freedom, conscious living, and cultural hybridity.
