Thierry Dussard was born in Chambéry (Savoie) in 1953. He graduated from Sciences Po Paris (1976) and is a journalist, notably for the daily newspaper Le Télégramme, L’Amateur de cigare, and Vigneron magazine. He is the author of Le Chêne en majesté, with Sylvain Charlois and Christophe Deschanel (Flammarion, 2018), which won the 2019 Clos Vougeot Prize.
Christophe Deschanel has worked as a photojournalist for the Centre-France group and as an AFP correspondent from 1992 to 1998, with the enthusiasm of “living a thousand lives in a single day.” In 1998, he became a freelance photographer and director. His work has received numerous awards, including the prize for best image for the film In the Wood for Life at the OEnovidéo international festival in 2014.
