A Toast to London

There’s a unique magic in honoring a city’s heritage at its very heart. On October 7, Maison Assouline was transformed into a literary salon as Londoners gathered to celebrate London Chic. Hosts Prosper Assouline and author Charles Finch welcomed guests into an evening devoted to the city’s unmistakable spirit, inviting them to explore London through its most refined and curated pages.

Inside the maison, bound volumes of London Chic lined the shelves like jewels in a collector’s cabinet. Guests moved through the space with cocktails inspired by the city’s neighborhoods and traditions: The Kensington Gardens, bright with citrus zest and elderflower mead; the Queen Elizabeth II, elegantly balanced with Cocchi Extra Dry Vermouth; and the SW3 Cooler, a sophisticated blend of cider verjus, maple, and thyme. Each drink—crafted in partnership with London Essence and No.3 Gin—captured a distinct facet of London’s botanical soul, transforming the celebration into a sensory journey through the capital.
