An Evening of Portuguese Culture and Literature

On June 26th, the renowned 18th-century manor house turned interior design studio, Casa do Passadiço came alive as friends and literary enthusiasts gathered to celebrate Carlos Souza and Charlene Shorto’s love letter to Lisbon, Lisboa Luz—the latest title in Assouline’s Travel Series. 

The evening began with the pair, both local to the city, sharing the inspiration for their  photographic homage as guests sipped specialty cucumber mules. Following a heartfelt toast and some mingling, the co-authors moved to a signing table where they personalized copies of Lisboa Luz and engaged in warm conversations about their love for Portugal’s capital. 

The intimate event encapsulated the essence of Lisboa Luz, highlighting Lisbon’s rich culture through evocative storytelling, music, and cuisine.
