MARILYN MONROE: A PORTRAIT (London)

Marking the centenary of Marilyn Monroe, this retrospective explores the life and career of one of the twentieth century’s most iconic women. It traces the story of the legend—and of Norma Jeane, born on June 1, 1926—capturing her through the lenses of renowned photographers such as Cecil Beaton, Philippe Halsman, Milton Greene, Richard Avedon, and André de Dienes, and showcasing her further elevation by artists like Andy Warhol, who transformed her into a pop icon. TANGIER. WHY TANGIER? (Tangier)

This exhibition begins with a question, showcasing images by Leila Alaoui, Cecil Beaton, Peter Rodger, Gérard Rondeau, and other photographers, all of whom love Tangier. It is a way to celebrate a city undergoing a major transformation, where Daniel and Françoise Aron established this dedicated photography showcase in 2018, a true gem of the northern capital. It is a city also celebrated by Assouline in a new book,Tangier Tangerine, by Souleiman Berrada, a magnificent tribute to a place whose “soft, blended light” Matisse so deeply admired.

200 YEARS OF PORTRAITS (La Seyne-sur-Mer)

Marking the bicentenary of photography, this exhibition brings together historic portraits by Nadar, as well as works by Sam Lévin, Lucien Clergue, Willy Ronis, and Studio Harcourt. Embark on a visual journey through time with three hundred photographs that reveal shared gazes, laughter, and moments of silence captured during a pose, from the charm of Brigitte Bardot to the enigmatic eyes of Michèle Morgan. MODA IN LUCE, 1955-1975 (Roma)

This is an extraordinary place in Rome and shouldn’t be missed. Housed in a former power plant, the museum displays ancient sculptures as if they were figures poised to spring into motion. Centered on the permanent exhibition The Machines and the Gods, this immersive experience is well worth a visit, featuring a gallery enhanced by the railway carriages of Pope Pius IX. The museum is currently celebrating the connections between fashion and industry, including cinema, with Moda in Luce, a highly glamorous retrospective showcasing 150 photographs and approximately thirty designs by the likes of Simonetta, the Fontana sisters, and Valentino.
