Aaron Sigmond has always been a collector. However, his storage methods have transformed with time, what began with simple cigar boxes has grown into a trinket box that acts as a small sanctuary for some of his most valued possessions. His collection includes objects from his travels, along with Swiss Army knives, and precious gifts from one of the people closest to him. At his home library, we discover what treasures he keeps inside his Assouline Trinket Box.

How do you feel about objects that are both beautiful and practical?

Aaron: I think there's always beauty in utility. I think this box serves a lot of different purposes. As somebody who likes decor and likes nice things,  this is the type of object that really speaks to me and I just love it.

How would you personally style this trinket box in your home?

Aaron: Well, I don't know that I would. I would find the perfect place for it, and I don't think it requires any altering or changing. It will be lovingly placed in a spot that really just suits it and suits its purpose. We were talking about utility earlier. So, it has to be readily accessible, and it has to be kind of like in its own nest.

Why did you choose the camel Trinket Box?

Aaron: I'm a big cigar guy, and this is very close to a tobacco color, it's really warm and soothing. It's friendly and it's inviting.

If your home could speak, what story would it tell about itself in the library?

Aaron: This is a well-loved home, and the things here are very meticulously curated and selected. My wife, Melissa and I have been collecting furniture and art for a very long time, and that includes the books in the library. It is very much all about hospitality, we entertain a lot here.
