International Sales Manager

The International Sales Manager will work with the principals of the company and the Director of International Sales to proactively develop new business and expand existing business in Assouline’s international wholesale markets in accordance with the stature and brand image that Assouline represents.

Specific responsibilities include:
• High level of customer (telephone/email) contact on a daily basis
• Negotiating deals to close and expand business with an understanding of Assouline program, discounts and practices
• Manage order process for assigned accounts and liaise with customers
• Research, report and follow up on new channels / markets / customers. Identify and report new market segments and opportunities
• Implementing and assist in developing marketing materials and programs, including email communications to clientele
• Maintain sales force cloud computing system on Salesforce.com
• Provide customer feedback to the Assouline organization as needed
• Work closely with sales team, logistics and customer service department, and financial department
Tasks and Requirements:
• Develop strategies to approach worldwide sales and distribution on a country by country basis
• Enrich strong relationships with current retail partners
• Research relevant art exhibits, fairs, new store openings, special window displays, and market trends to identify opportunities for existing and new business
• Analyze company priorities with current sales numbers and trends as well as market potential for each country, taking into account accessibility, local
• Ongoing outreach to potential customers to introduce them to brand and close new accounts

Desired Skills & Experience
• Bachelors Degree in Business
• 2+ years of related sales experience
• Extensive knowledge and contacts of the international book trade preferred
• Knowledge of global markets
• Strong interpersonal & communication skills
• Knowledge in Microsoft Application & Excel required
• Bilingual; Spanish speaking preferred

Director of Architecture & Interior Design (New York)

Assouline is searching for a Director of Architecture & Interior Design with a unique skill set. The ability to handle construction from concept to installation in the luxury retail market as well as residential experience in the creation of exclusive library spaces. The ability to negotiate with general contractors and has experience with furniture, lighting and library accessories manufacturers.

Responsibilities:
• Manage contractors, other consultants, junior designer & retail partners for all Store Planning projects
• Effectively implement and reinforce brand design, construction & maintenance project standards
• Sketch general space planning layouts
• Read construction documents to produce take-offs for owner supplied materials and to maintain standard operating procedures & established construction timelines & budgets
• Coordinate and manage all phases of new or temporary store construction and remodels including overseeing of quality control, budget proposals and final account settlements
• Track all project deadlines, budgets, deliverables including owner-supplied items
• Proactively manage changes in project scope and devise contingency plans/options when applicable
• Perform periodic site visits and inspect progress of construction projects and installations as needed
• Ensure completion of punch lists and proper close-out of all projects
• Support repair and maintenance responsibilities and budgets for existing store network
• Assist in benchmarking local sourced materials, vendors and contractors
• Help build, develop & grow existing and new local suppliers’ national and international network and business relationships
• Plan and prioritize purchasing activities
• Review planned orders, create requisitions for purchased items, and manage approval process & purchases
• Track orders and confirm lead times, delivery dates, and costs

Requirements:
• Ideal candidate will have MINIMUM (5) years of strong retail construction experience in a luxury goods environment
• Ability to read and red-line full drawing sets is a MUST
• Prior Project Management experience including budgets & negotiation skills
• Must have excellent computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office with experience in AutoCAD, Adobe Photo Shop and Acrobat • College Degree in related areas is preferred
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, organization, follow up and problem solving and negotiation skills are required
• Knowledge of permits and building standards
• Creative ability to understand overall vision and execute design from inception to installation
• Ability to travel & valid driver’s license required

Sales Consultant - Assouline Vintage/Rare Books & Prints (London)

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for management of complete inventory and sales of Vintage/Rare Books and Prints
• Handle on-site merchandising and displays relating to Vintage/Rare books
• Oversee restoration of certain books
• Develop ties with key clients, partners and management to scope all possibilities to grow sales for the segment

Responsible for directing multiple simultaneous projects to include selection, coordination, installation and sales of all Assouline Furniture and Decoration (including vintage) Objects.

Responsibilities:

• Give creative direction for interior decoration
• Take initiatives to propel the bespoke library concept as a major product to the UK market

The Sales Consultant will report to the Boutique Director. The right candidate will have luxury retail sales experience. Candidate should have a strong interest in the arts, culture, travel and fashion.

Essential duties/ Responsibilities:
• Possess product knowledge of the Assouline product line
• Advise and assist customers into the boutique in a warm and genuinely sincere manner
• Provide outstanding customer service experience
• Capture client information and actively develop a client base, consistently adding information to further promote boutique relationships
• Regularly contact clients regarding new products, events and follow up
• A professional attitude and presentation
• Help create merchandise presentations and displays, are customer focused and maximize sales
• Support the correct management of the inventory

Skills/ Requirements:

Retail Store Manager (Paris)

We are currently seeking a Store Manager in Paris who will report to the VP of Global Retail. The right candidate will be professional, results-driven and manage a team of 3-4 Sales Consultant as well as possess luxury brand experience.
Candidate should have a strong interest in the arts, culture, travel and fashion.

Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:
• Manage store daily operations
• Manage and motivate the team to increase sales and ensure efficiency
• Maintain store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
• Schedule and assign employees work shifts
• Review, approve and remit commission reports and time sheets
• Maintain store staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
• Maximize profitability and meeting sales targets
• Ensure availability of merchandise and maintaining inventories
• Prepare promotional materials, presentations and displays that are customer focused and maximize sales
• Manage budgets and provide reports to the management
• Ensure that guidelines and procedures are correctly implemented
• Coordinate events (including sourcing) as well as attending them
